Ahead of South Africa's WTC 2023-25 final against Australia, captain Temba Bavuma said players of colour are labelled "quota" picks when they underperform. "The mere fact that I was the first Black African brought a different narrative and connotation to it," he added. Across a season, the average South Africa playing XI must include at least six players of colour.
