A businessman named Pritpal Singh Hanspal transformed his rail coach parts factory in Punjab's Kapurthala into a lifeboat-making unit during the recent floods and produced 100 lightweight, durable boats for aid and rescue operations in submerged villages. These boats could carry up to 700 kg and ferry people, food, medicine, and livestock to safety, reports claimed.
