Punjabi language made compulsory subject in all Punjab schools
The Punjab government on Wednesday made it mandatory for all schools in the state, irrespective of the board, to teach Punjabi as a main and compulsory subject. Notably, Punjabi was removed from CBSE's draft scheme for twice-a-year board exam format. CBSE had later clarified that Punjabi will continue to be offered for the 2025-26 session.
