Rare lung transplant on one of India’s shortest female recipients
A 148-cm-tall woman from Delhi, one of India's shortest female recipients, underwent a rare bilateral lobar lung transplant at Gleneagles Hospital, Chennai, for interstitial lung disease. The 8-hour surgery was performed by Dr Govini Balasubramani and Dr Apar Jindal using donor lungs from Rajiv Gandhi Hospital. The patient was off the ventilator in 22 hours and discharged in a week.
