Researchers grow wheat in Rajasthan desert
Using a homemade "soilification" method, researchers have cultivated wheat on desert land near Pushkar in Rajasthan. By applying a special bioformula, they transformed dry sand into fertile soil and harvested 26 kg of wheat per 100 sq m with just three rounds of watering. The technique, currently being tested on millet and green gram, may stop spread of Thar desert.
