Safdarjung Hospital doctors remove 10.6 kg tumour from abdomen
Doctors from Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital removed a 10.6 kg Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumour (GIST) from a patient's abdomen, the hospital said in a statement. GISTs are rare, cancerous tumours that develop in the digestive system. The patient had the condition for eight months, and the removal required "advanced surgical skills" as the tumour was massive and involved multiple organ systems.
