Hashem Safieddine, presumed successor to slain Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, was killed along with his companions in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut, Saudi news outlet Al Hadath reported. The strike targeted a meeting of senior Hezbollah officials in Beirut, The Jerusalem Post reported. Reports also claimed Israel had confirmed Safieddine's death. Israel is yet to announce it officially.
