Samruddhi Expressway turns India’s first solar-powered highway
Samruddhi Expressway, has become the first highway in the country to generate solar power, with the commissioning of nearly 5MW projects. Solar power plants at Karanja Lad in Buldhana district and Mehkar in Washim district have begun operations. MSRDC has drawn up a broader plan to set up solar projects of 204MW capacity across various interchanges of the 701-km expressway.
