Satellites could disrupt nearly 40% of Hubble photos: Study
The growing number of satellite launches in orbit could affect almost 40% of Hubble's images and up to 96% from three other telescopes in the next decade, a study warned. Satellite streaks interfere with capturing clean, unobstructed views of the cosmos. This threatens astronomers' ability to spot potentially hazardous asteroids, identify new exoplanets, or observe faint cosmic phenomena.
