Scientist's pet cat helps discover new virus again
A scientist's pet cat, named Pepper, has helped discover a new strain of orthoreovirus. The new virus was revealed when Dr John Lednicky, Pepper's owner and a virologist at the University of Florida, tested a dead Everglades short-tailed shrew that his cat had caught. Notably, Pepper had previously helped in the discovery of US' first-known jeilongvirus.
