Scientists find a new material that behaves like a light switch that's both on and off
Michigan University scientists found that ytterbium boride, which is supposed to act as an insulator and block electricity, can also conduct it under certain circumstances. They found that under a magnetic field 35x stronger than MRI, ytterbium boride suddenly acts like a conductor. This means it behaves like a light switch that's both on and off at the same time.
