SEBI clears AIF co-Investment, boosts startup funding
In a landmark reform, SEBI has allowed Category I & II AIFs to co-invest in Indian startups, enabling fund managers and sponsors to invest directly alongside their funds. This regulatory clarity boosts early-stage funding, aligns interests, reduces compliance hurdles, and promotes deeper startup ecosystem growth, especially in Tier II–III cities and sectors like cleantech, fintech, and deep tech.
