Serpent god reveals why snake bit a human in ritual at MP temple
In a century-old post-Diwali ritual in Madhya Pradesh's Lasudiya Parihar village, locals believe the serpent god possesses snakebite victims to reveal why they were bitten. The 'possessed' individuals mimic snake-like behaviour, including raising an invisible hood, and reveal reasons such as destruction of the snake's home or tractor accidents. The ritual takes place at a Hanuman temple.
