Sikkim landslide: 113 tourists rescued & 59 airlifted
On Thursday morning, rescue operations in landslide-hit areas of north Sikkim resumed as the weather cleared. The rescue teams were successfully able to evacuate 113 stranded tourists, with 59 airlifted from the Lachen village. Two MI-17V5 helicopters flew to Chaten in north Sikkim. Onboard were NDRF personnel and Power Department experts, tasked with restoring essential services in the area.
