Sounds like good idea: Trump on Putin's nuclear arms control offer
US President Donald Trump has expressed support for Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to voluntarily maintain limits on deployed strategic nuclear weapons under the 2010 New START Treaty, expiring in February 2026. "Sounds like a good idea to me," Trump said at the White House. The treaty caps each side at 1,550 deployed warheads and 800 launchers, and heavy bombers.
