Sri Lanka begins voting in first Prez polls since economic crisis
Sri Lanka began voting on Saturday in its first presidential election since the 2022 economic crisis. Over 17 million people are eligible to vote with 2,00,000 officials and 63,000 police ensuring security. Among 38 candidates, the key contenders are incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, and legislator Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Results are expected by Sunday.
