Study finds orb-weaving spiders in Meghalaya's Khasi Hills
A Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) study has documented 28 species of orb-weaving spiders from Meghalaya’s Khasi Hills, highlighting their role as natural pest controllers and bio-indicators of forest health. The survey found higher diversity in West Khasi Hills and peak abundance in monsoon months, underscoring the need for ecosystem conservation.
