Study finds two rare ladybird beetle species in Meghalaya
Two rare ladybird beetles — Plotina muelleri and Plotina octomaculata — have been recorded for the first time in India from Meghalaya’s Khasi and Garo Hills, according to a new Zootaxa study. The discovery marks the first record of the genus Plotina in India, underscoring Meghalaya’s rich and still-unexplored insect diversity.
