Sun fires off 2nd-strongest flare of 2025
The sun fired a powerful X4-class flare on November 14, marking the second-strongest solar eruption of 2025 from the same hyperactive sunspot that produced a record X5 event recently. NOAA reported the flare peaked at 2 pm IST from sunspot AR4274. The eruption caused strong radio blackouts across the sunlit side of Earth, particularly over central and eastern Africa.
