Sunshine hours in India decreasing, study lists reasons for it
A study conducted by BHU, IITM and IMD by analysing trends from 1988-2018 has found that sunshine hours in India are decreasing, with north Indian plains seeing the maximum drop of 13.1 hours per year. The study blamed industrial emissions, biomass burning, and vehicular pollution for this. It also attributed excessive cloudiness during the June-September monsoon months to this phenomenon.
