Surgeon amputates his own legs to claim ₹5 crore insurance in UK
A vascular surgeon in UK allegedly had both of his legs amputated in a bid to claim nearly £500,000 (over ₹5 crore) in insurance payouts. Neil Hopper, 49, who once practiced at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, is accused of falsely claiming his amputations were the result of sepsis. Prosecutors said that the alleged false representations occurred in June 2019.
