Tanzania swears in 1st elected female Prez after violent protests kill 10
Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan was sworn into office to commence her first elected term after winning a landslide victory in an election marred by deadly protests, which claimed 10 lives, according to UN. Hassan, Tanzania's first female President, secured 98% of vote amid allegations over absence of credible opposition. Hassan first assumed power after her predecessor's death in 2021.
