Telangana woman saves 650 types of native vegetable, flower seeds
In 2016, Gajawada Swaroopa began collecting native seeds after realising that youth among farming families were giving up agriculture. Her collection includes 15 types of lady's fingers, brinjal (20), chillies (10), cluster beans (25), snake gourd (5), including a one-inch gourd and tomatoes (15). She has around 450 varieties of vegetables and the rest 200 are flowers, herbs and paddy.
