The origin of Mumbai's iconic Lalbaugh Cha Raja
Mumbai's iconic Lalbaugcha Raja traces its roots to 1934, when the closure of Peru Chawl market left fishermen and vendors distressed. They prayed to Lord Ganesha, vowing to honor him with a public celebration if a new market was built. Their wish was fulfilled, and the first idol was installed on 12 September 1934, starting a 91-year tradition.
