The Sambhar salt lake miracle
Sambhar Lake faced severe pollution from sewage and industrial waste, harming livelihoods and nature. With only 30–40% wastewater treated in Rajasthan, the lake was dying. But community-led efforts built 15 ponds storing 1300 crore litres. This improved water quality, raised the water table, brought back wildlife, and even revived farming—restoring life and hope to the region.
