Thirteen new frog species discovered in Northeast India
Researchers have discovered 13 new bush frog species in Northeast India, including three from Meghalaya — Raorchestes narpuhensis, R. boulengeri, and R. mawsynramensis. The study, combining DNA, morphology, and acoustic analysis, raises India’s bush frog count to 95 and highlights the region’s rich but still largely undocumented amphibian diversity.
