Union Minister Amit Shah accused TMC of turning West Bengal into a hub of infiltration, attacks on Hindus and insult of women. "Mamata Banerjee insulted mothers and sisters of India by criticising Operation Sindoor, " Shah added. His comments come after law student Sharmishta Panoli was arrested by Kolkata Police for allegedly making defamatory remarks against Islam after Operation Sindoor.
