Tomato prices jump to ₹80, may touch ₹100 in Karnataka
Tomato prices in Karnataka state have surged to around ₹80 per kg at HOPCOMS and local markets, raising fears that rates may soon hit ₹100 again. A non-harvest period and sharp drop in supply at Kolar and Chikkaballapur APMCs have triggered the rise. Just days ago, tomatoes cost ₹15-₹20, but reduced arrivals may keep prices high until the next harvest.
