Tripura's Daspara becomes India's 1st self-sustaining bio-village
Daspara, a small village in Sepahijala district in Tripura, became India's first self-sustaining bio-village under state government's 'Bio Village 2.0' initiative. First introduced in 2018, the initiative aimed at promoting organic farming. The families now use solar tools, biogas, organic fertilisers, etc and earn additional ₹5,000 to ₹15,000/month. As of now, 10 bio-villages have been set up.
