Tripura to integrate Chakma language into Google Translate by 2026
A major step to preserve indigenous culture, Tripura will soon integrate Chakma language into Google Translate, enabling translations into English, Hindi and Bengali. The state has compiled 50,000 words so far, with more to follow. From 2026, August 7 will be observed as Chakma Language and Script Day. The move aims to preserve and promote Chakma heritage in digital age.
