Trump imposes 25% tariff on Japan and South Korea
US President Donald Trump wrote letters to Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, stating that goods from both the countries will be taxed at 25% starting on August 1. "If for any reason you decide to raise your tariffs, then, whatever number you choose...will be added onto the 25% that we charge," the letters read.
