Trump tariffs to cost ₹105.5 lakh crore to businesses in 2025, consumers to bear costs: S&P
The tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on multiple countries, including 50% on India, will cost global businesses $1.2 trillion (approximately ₹105.5 lakh crore) in 2025, according to an S&P Global analysis. The company said the estimate is conservative as freight costs and logistics delays increase the effects. S&P Global expects consumers to bear a majority of the burden.
