UP’s tiger population rises from 173 to 222
According to Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Anuradha Vemuri Uttar Pradesh’s tiger population grew significantly from 173 in 2018 to 222 in 2022. This increase is attributed to improved habitat management and the implementation of advanced patrolling systems like M-Stripes. Dudhwa Tiger Reserve leads the effort with 135 tigers.
