Uranium found in breast milk of lactating mothers in Bihar, sparks health concern
A study has shown presence of radioactive element uranium in 40 breast milk samples collected from lactating mothers in six Bihar districts, sparking health concerns. Around 70% infants showed potential non-carcinogenic health risk, the study said, adding that uranium concentrations were below permissible limits. Uranium exposure may impair neurological development and reduce IQ, it added.
