US-bound flight dropped from 35,000 ft to 10,000 ft in Oct, exposing glitch in Airbus planes
Airbus' decision to recall 6,000 jets of its A320 fleet is believed to have been triggered by an incident on October 30, when a New Jersey-bound JetBlue plane suddenly dropped from 35,000 feet to 10,000 feet. The flight was eventually diverted to Tampa, Florida, and about 15-20 passengers were injured. Pilots had reported a "flight control issue" after the incident.
