The US tariff exemption for low-value items valued under $800 ended permanently on Friday. With this, a six-month transition period began under which shippers can opt to pay a flat duty of $80 to $200 per package depending on the origin country. "This will add up to $10 billion a year in tariff revenues," US trade adviser Peter Navarro said.
