US govt proposes new H-1B visa process that favours higher-skilled, better-paid workers
US administration released a proposal that'd favour higher-skilled and better-paid workers for H-1B visa selection, according to a Federal Register notice. This follows a proclamation introducing a $100,000 (₹88 lakh) fee for the visa. The process, if finalised, would give preference to applications by employers who pay high wages if annual requests for visas exceed statutory limit of 85,000.
