Varun Mohan, Indian-origin techie Google hired in $2.4-bn deal, criticised for leaving startup
Windsurf Co-founder Varun Mohan, who Google beat OpenAI in hiring in a $2.4-billion deal, is facing criticism online for leaving his startup to join the Big Tech firm. "Windsurf...really bad example of founders leaving their teams behind and not even sharing proceeds with their team," Indian investor Vinod Khosla said. Venture capitalist Harry Stebbings called Mohan's transition "disappointing".
