Waking up to an alarm increases BP, stress levels: Neurologist
Waking up to an alarm can result in a 74% increase in blood pressure (BP) compared to waking up naturally, Apollo Hospitals' neurologist Sudhir Kumar said citing a UVA School of Nursing research. It can increase stress levels and the risk of heart attack and stroke, he added. BP surge is greater among those sleeping for less than 7 hours.
