Wanted to retaliate against Pak after 26/11 but MEA refused, US said avoid war: Chidambaram
Congress leader P Chidambaram, who became the Home Minister days after 26/11 attacks, said he wanted to retaliate against Pakistan after the attacks. "The conclusion was largely influenced by MEA and IFS that we shouldn't physically react to the situation," he added. He added that then US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice flew to India and told them to avoid war.
