We don't take any position on faith, religion: India on Dalai Lama's succession
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has reacted to exiled Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama's statement on his succession plan. "Government of India does not take any position or speak on matters concerning beliefs and practices of faith and religion," it said. Indian government has always "upheld freedom of religion for all and will continue to do so", it added.
