We don’t want an emperor: Brazil's Lula on Trump's tariff threats
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva criticised US President Donald Trump over his threats of tariffs on countries "aligning" with BRICS. "We don't want an emperor. We are sovereign nations," Lula said. "If he believes he can impose tariffs, then we have the right to respond with tariffs of our own," he added, urging respect for national sovereignty.
