We fired at protesters in self-defence: Ladakh DGP on deaths
Speaking on the September 24 violence in which four people were killed, Ladakh DGP SD Singh said forces were compelled to open fire on protesters, else the entire Leh would've been burned to the ground. He said that the violence was without precedent and further blamed "vested interests" and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk for it. Notably, Wangchuk has been arrested.
