Weight loss drug Ozempic faces $2-billion lawsuits over claims it causes stomach paralysis
Novo Nordisk, which produces Ozempic, is facing lawsuits worth over $2 billion over claims that its weight loss drug causes stomach paralysis, blindness and gallbladder disease, among other life-altering complications. The patients behind the lawsuits allege Novo Nordisk didn't give them enough warning about the risks. While the first lawsuit was filed in 2023, 1,800 cases are currently pending.
