Weight-loss drugs may cause vision loss: Study
Weight-loss drugs like tirzepatide could lead to eye diseases that cause vision loss, a study stated. Out of 159,000 type 2 diabetes patients on tirzepatide, 35 cases were found to have developed non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION). It occurs when blood flow to the optic nerve is suddenly reduced or blocked, damaging the nerve and potentially causing permanent blindness.
