What happens if a person sits for too long?
Dr Mohit Sharma, Senior Consultant, Department of Internal Medicine, Amrita Hospital, said research suggests sitting for more than 6-8 hours a day increases risk of premature death. He quoted an analysis, which found that it was associated with higher risk of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
