The safety car in F1 is a car brought onto the track to limit the speed of cars. It is deployed during dangerous situations, such as a crash, to allow marshals to clear the track, or in severe weather conditions. All drivers must follow the safety car and are not allowed to overtake each other unless instructed to do so.
