What is ERS in F1?
The Energy Recovery System (ERS) in F1 cars collects energy during braking (kinetic) and from the turbocharger (heat), storing it for later use. The energy is generated through two motors: MGU-K (Motor Generator Unit - Kinetic) and MGU-H (Motor Generator Unit - Heat). It's then stored in the Energy Store, enabling extra horsepower and giving drivers the opportunity to overtake.
