What is Norro Boli and is it still practiced today in Mayong?
Norro Boli, meaning 'human sacrifice', was an ancient ritual once linked to Mayong’s dark folklore in Assam, believed to please spirits or enhance magical powers. Ritual swords called Dakhor, once used in such rites, are now preserved in the Mayong Museum. However, human sacrifice is no longer practiced, it exists only in legends, symbolising Mayong’s mysterious and mythical past.
