FSSAI banned term 'ORS' on drinks that don’t meet WHO standards. The WHO's standard ORS formula contains 2.6 grams sodium chloride, 1.5 grams potassium chloride, 2.9 grams sodium citrate, and 13.5 grams dextrose per litre of water. Paediatrician Dr Sivaranjani Santosh said, "People need to know...a 4-gram pouch should be dissolved in 200 ml...water and...20-gram pouch in 1 litre water."
